Derek Redmond didn’t finish first in 400m at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. He didn’t finish 2nd or 3rd or 4th. Heavily favored to win the gold medal, Derek unfortunately tore his hamstring and collapsed on the track. With the determination to complete the race, Derek struggled to his feet and began hopping around the track on one leg.
The true inspiration came when his father comes out of the stands and helps his son complete the race. No matter what you are trying to achieve in your life, never give up! Just look at Derek Redmond.
